This is a quality silk bonnet acquired from a wealthy Montreal estate - I can picture a lady during the 1930s wearing this silk bonnet to go out skating or on a sleigh ride

They have slightly tapered legs that widen wide at the bottom

which is the identification for the artist E Violet Hayward (1897-1942)

There is some very slight soiling at the back neck

They fluoresce green under a UV lamp, so are confusing me as to age, but they appear to be very old to me, possibly late 18th or early 19th century just from their weight, clarify and overall appearance.
