Buray Shawl in Mustard Yellow defeating the Lord of Death100% Buray silk handwoven, dyed, and finished in Norbulingka workshops. Known as bu ray (insect cloth) in Bhutan and Tibet and as Endi in India, this rugged wild silk fabric is made from the pierced cocoon of the Attacus Ricini moth whose larvae feed on the leaves of the castor oil tree, in the jungles of Assam. Popular in Bhutan and Tibet, buray was imported from Assam for centuries and traditionally used for monks shawls and the famed Tibetan shirt.
